Congressional apologies

Today congress is going to be apologizing for lynchings that took place decades ago.
What is the point.

Why don't we just apologize for everything...

I want an apology from Brittian for how my ancestors were treated under King George.
I want an apology from the radio stations that shoved crappy music down our throats for years and continue to do so to this day.
I want an apology from brussel sprout producers for putting out such a nasty and bland version of a once sweet vegetable.
I want an apology from Mr. Fry my 4th grade teacher for giving me swats when I was being a brat.

Why can't we as 21st century Americans get over the fact that all our ancestors were human and thus sinful in nature and subject to mistakes. Why don't we focus on the good that has come from the progression of our history.
Journalists glorify Pulitzer and spend their careers yearning for the recognition the Pulitzer prize affords them among their peers. But Pulitzer was a scumbag in my opinion. He and Hearst were just as guilty of trumping up lies in order to sell papers. They both ripped apart the concept of journalistic integrity in order to gain market share. Isn't that the greed todays leftwing journalists bemoan as being the root of caucasion evil.
Why is he held in such high regard while our founding fathers are picked apart as evil slave owning tyrants. (which oh yeah they just happened to create the society that allows them to say such things without being lynched themselves)

I say forget the apologies and just focus on the future.
Let those who's ancestors were wronged forgive and forget.
