Sedition is OK if your a senator from IL

Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois commited a seditious act on the floor of the senate yesterday.
While reading an exerpt from and FBI agents report on activities at Gitmo
"When you read some of the graphic descriptions of what has occurred here [at Guantanamo Bay]--I almost hesitate to put them in the [Congressional] Record, and yet they have to be added to this debate. Let me read to you what one FBI agent saw. And I quote from his report:

On a couple of occasions, I entered interview rooms to find a detainee chained hand and foot in a fetal position to the floor, with no chair, food or water. Most times they urinated or defecated on themselves, and had been left there for 18-24 hours or more. On one occasion, the air conditioning had been turned down so far and the temperature was so cold in the room, that the barefooted detainee was shaking with cold. . . . On another occasion, the [air conditioner] had been turned off, making the temperature in the unventilated room well over 100 degrees. The detainee was almost unconscious on the floor, with a pile of hair next to him. He had apparently been literally pulling his hair out throughout the night. On another occasion, not only was the temperature unbearably hot, but extremely loud rap music was being played in the room, and had been since the day before, with the detainee chained hand and foot in the fetal position on the tile floor.

"If I read this to you and did not tell you that it was an FBI agent describing what Americans had done to prisoners in their control, you would most certainly believe this must have been done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime--Pol Pot or others--that had no concern for human beings. Sadly, that is not the case. This was the action of Americans in the treatment of their prisoners." -Turbin Durbin

So in Durbin's eyes we are running a gulag.
Where is the anti-defimation league on this one?
You realize he just equated the atrocities at Auschwitz, the russian death camp of Archipelago and the killing fields of murderous marxist Pol Pot in Cambodia to the interogation techniques at Guantanamo Bay.

Just how in the hell does he get off equating some discomfort to mass torture and death???
Senator Durbin you are a disgrace to your office and this great nation.
What you did was give aid and comfort to the enemy and demoralized our troops. That's sedition!
Where is the outcry from the Jewish community on this one?
If we are running a gulag where are all the mass graves.
Why are they being fed honey glazed chicken?
Why are we bending over backwards to accommodate thier religious beliefs.
Why are we giving them korans that they just rip up and flush down the toilet.. then blame us for disgracing thier sacred book.

Where is the outrage for insinuating that loud rap music is torture equivlent of a gas chamber?
(while I may agree its a form of torture :) but far from having your eyes burned from within by noxious gases)

I think its time we have an investigation into the drugging of D.C. food supply. Something is making them MAD, insane. What he said is criminal in my view.
We literally have the criminally insane standing on the senate floor making Goebbles smile from ear to ear. He talks of our military being Nazi's ... He needs a serious history lesson... all while sitting in a 6x6 cell.

It's time to fire these traitors... FIRE THEM ALL!!!

what, are we too stupid to be humane and secure both?

The problem is what we define as inhumane.
American Heritage defines it as lacking pity or compassion.

What was described by a single FBI agent was far from what I would consider inhumane.
I'm subjected to 100deg+ temps and loud rap music sitting at your average traffic light. Neither are by my choice.
The conditions are what you'll find in your average drunk tank.

Perhaps the the act of pulling out his hair was a sign of a guilty conscience.
The conditions described are a fraction of what we subject our own special forces to in the duration of their training.

Keep in mind the complaining is a part of their training manual. They know the effect of allegations.

The leftwing media would have us believe that all the detainee's are humble farmers taken by mistake.

I will agree to an extent with that. We shouldn't have taken anyone. We should have just dropped a tactical nuke on the sunni triangle and then this "quagmire" wouldn't even exist.

The problem with a U.S. Senator talking like this, is it feeds the propaganda machine of the enemy.
It will be shown on machines like Al-Jazeer twisted to make us look like we are the evil ones. Just as our own media machine is doing.

That emboldens the enemy and demoralizes our troops. In a time of war that is criminal.

Just prior to WW2 Roosevelt was in a political battle not unlike our current situation. But when we were hit on Dec 6th all the political bolstering went out the door. We came together to defeat the real enemy.

Remember these people want you to either convert to their religious beliefs or they will kill you and your entire family.
And even that is farse. Since we are all unpure they would rather see us all dead.
I have a deep faith in Christ, but I certainly don't think someone should either convert to my beliefs or die.
But I have no quams about taking the life of any scumbag that would try to kill homosexuals and hollywierdo's even though I believe they need to repent or face God's judgement.
That's the difference between us and them. We believe you should be able to live your life within reasonable bounds of law. If someone doesn't agree with your choices, then that is between you and God. As long as it doesn't hurt anyone else.

The question you posed should be restated to... "It's stupid to think we should show pity on those who would kill us simply for being free."
